Indic Keypad
« On:February 15, 2016, 10:05:48 AM »
Hello everyone :)

Please checkout "Indic Keypad" which is available on the Tizen store. It is a downloadable keypad which is supported from Tizen 2.4.

Indic Keypad allows users to send messages, input text in their native languages while using the convenience of the English keypad. This method of text input is called "Transliteration".
E.g. Typing "Namaste" will give "नमस्ते" when Hindi is selected. The app also displays the typed English word in the prediction area and gives an option to override the typed Indic word with it.

13 languages supported NOW, Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu.

Special Features :

- Make your keypad learn the words you commonly use with our new dynamic learning feature.

- Get multiple predictions as you type.

- Customize your keypad background by selecting any image from your gallery. Add images to match your mood.

- Two themes supported.

The dictionary for the languages is still in the Beta phase, so please check it out and provide us with your valuable feedback and suggestions. This will help us in improving the transliteration accuracy.

How to enable it?

1. Go to Settings
2. Select Language and input
3. Select Keyboard
4. Enable "Indic Keypad" under Keyboards
5. Then select "Default keyboard" and set "Indic Keypad".

How to select an Indic language?

1. Open the Indic keypad
2. Click the settings button
3. Select Indic languages
4. Select the language of your choice.

The dictionary is not complete for all the languages. We are working on improving the rules. The latest version has learning feature enabled, so if you find some word is not proper, make it learn. Next time it will display the learnt word. :)
